Window cleaning — Cleaning — Professionals
Providers should qualify height, obstacles and usable access before accepting the full window schedule. The method for ground-reachable panes may differ from elevated, internal or roof glazing, and exclusions need to be agreed before attendance.
Service scope
Window cleaning removes ordinary soiling from agreed glazing and associated frames or sills. Internal and external panes, access height and glass treatments are separate scope decisions; the service does not automatically include repairs, coating removal or work on inaccessible glazing.
What is normally included
- Internal or external glass cleaning
- Frame and sill cleaning when specified
- Recurring or one-off window visits
What is not included
- Repairing failed glazing seals
- Unassessed work at height or removal of specialist coatings
Qualification checks
- Confirm glass faces and quantities
- Assess safe access to each elevation
- Identify obstructions and fragile roofs
- Check coating and residue issues
- Agree recurrence and access arrangements
Quote guidance
Separate ordinary accessible glazing from elevated or specialist access. State whether frames, sills and internal faces are included and whether a first visit with heavy build-up differs from routine maintenance.
Lead risks
- A window count may hide large or divided panes
- Locked gates or conservatory roofs can prevent planned access
