Appliance refitting and checks after repair — Appliance repair — Professionals
Refit the repaired appliance within the authorised positioning, connection and check scope. Review the repair record and define responsibility for connections requiring separate expertise.
Service scope
Returning a repaired appliance to its agreed position, reconnecting services within the provider's competence and carrying out the relevant reinstatement checks. The scope identifies whether removal, cabinetry adjustment, separate electrical or gas work, and commissioning records are included.
What is normally included
- Review appliance condition and refitting requirements
- Return and reconnect the appliance within the agreed competence
- Complete the specified reinstatement checks and handover
What is not included
- No automatic new-appliance or kitchen installation
- No implied competence for all fuel/electrical connections
- Assumed certification of another party's repair
- Unqualified reconnection of gas or fixed electrical supplies
Qualification checks
- Confirm the appliance model and repair already performed
- Confirm the positioning, reconnection and checks required
- Confirm the responsibility for specialist connections
- Check that the repaired appliance is ready for refitting and that repair limitations are documented
- Confirm compatible connections and who performs any separately required specialist checks
Quote guidance
Separate movement, refitting, reconnection, checks and making good. State which specialist connections and any further appliance repair are excluded.
Lead risks
- Refitting may expose access or connection problems outside the repair scope
- Another contractor repair is not automatically certified by a refitting visit
